【 Suggest 用法小结】

Suggest 表示建议，用法以下：

1) suggest+ n./pron.

或 suggest+ n./pron. to+sb. ，但不可以说

suggest sb sth

eg: We suggest him the plan (Χ )

We suggest the plan to him( √ )

2） suggest doing sth

eg

He suggested going out for a walk.

注意： suggest 不可以够加不定式，因此上边的句子不可以够这样写：

He suggested to go out for a walk.( Χ)

3) suggest +(that )+ 主语 +(should) do+sth

=He suggested you go there tomorrow.

注意，不可以够这样说：

He

suggested you to go there tomorrow.

也就是说

suggest 不可以够加不定式的复合构造。

4） suggestion 做主语时 ，后来也用这个构造：

The suggestion is that +主语 +should +do sth

eg: His suggestion is that I should leave for Beijing immediately.

I suggest our going to the park on Sunday.

1） 都可接名词做宾语

2） 都可接动名词做宾语

I suggested/ advised putting off the sports-meet.

我建议将运动会缓期。

They suggested/ advised waiting until the proper time. 他们建议（我们）等到适合的机遇才行动。

3） 都可接 that 宾语从句， that 从句用 should+动词原形， should 能够省略。

She suggested/ advised that the class meeting （should） not be held on Saturday.

她建议班会不要在礼拜六举行。

We suggested/ advised that he （ should） go and make an apology to his teacher.

我们建议他去处老师致歉。

4） advise 可接动词不定式复合宾语

I advised him to give up the foolish idea. =I suggested his/him giving up the foolish idea. 我建议他放

弃那愚笨的念想。 （ suggest 在口语里可接动名词的复合宾语） 。

1. 表示“建议” 、“劝说”、“忠告”等，是 不行数名词 ，若表示一条或几条建议或劝说，

要借用 piece 这样的词。如：

This is a good piece of advice.

这是一条很好的建议。

2. 表示依据某人的建议做某事，一般要用

介词

on 或 by 。如：

ask

We did the work on /by her advice.

我们按她的建议做此工作。

3. 表示 提出 建议或忠告，一般用

动词

give；表示向某人 讨教或征采 建议，一般用动词

(for) ；表示 接受 建议或劝说，一般用动词

take, follow,accept

等。如：

The old often give good advice to the young.

4. 后来若出现 that 从句，往常用“ should＋动词原形”这样的虚构语气。如：

My advice is that he (should) give up smoking.

我建议他戒烟。
