干涉仪器fine guidance sensor/精密制导传感器

fgs是一个安装在hst上面的干涉仪器，能够提供和天文台控制系统高度吻合的高精度的指向信息。

在james webb space telescope上，也有一个fgs，但是它采用的是另外一种技术方法。

在一些专门的应用中，比如说天体测量，fgs也能够用作一种科学研究用的仪器。

hst有三个fgs，其中的两个用来指向并锁定望远镜的观测目标，另外一个用来做位置测量----也叫做天体测量（astrometry）。因为fgs相当精确，他们能够用来测量恒星的距离和双星系统。

三个fgs被安装在望远镜视场周围，以90度相隔一定距离放置。为了达到哈勃的高精度要求，fgs被设计成干涉仪从而能够分析出入射光线的特征。正式因为这样的高精确度，传感器能够发现到邻近恒星的运动中的晃动，从而分析出星团的状态，即分析出那些恒星是否是双星，测量出恒星，星系的角直径等等。
