2023胡文原创

Recently a Beijing father sent in a question at an Internet

forum(论坛) asking what “PK”meant.

“My family has been watching the ‘I Am the Singer’

singing competition TV programme. My little daughter asked

me what ‘PK’ meant, but I had no idea,” explained the

puzzled father.

To a lot of Chinese young people who have been playing

games online, it is impossible not to know this term. In such

Internet games, “PK” is short for “Player Kill”, in which two

players fight until one ends the life of the other.

In the case of the “I Am the Singer”singing competition,

“PK” was used to refer to the stage where two singers have to

compete with each other for only one chance to go up in

competition raking.

Like this father, Chinese teachers at Middle schools have

also been finding their students using Internet jargons which

are difficult to understand. A teacher from Tianjin asked her

students to write the compositions with simple language, but

they came up with a lot of Internet jargons that she didn’t

understand.

“My ‘GG’ came back this summer from college. He told

me I’ve grown up to be a ‘PLMM’. I loved to ‘FB’ with him

together; he always took me to the ‘KPM’,” went one

composition.

“GG” means Ge Ge (Chinese pinyin for brother). “PLMM”

is Piao Liang Mei Mei (beautiful girl). “FB” means Fu Bai

(corruption). “KPM” is short for KFC, Pizza Hut and McDonald’

s.

Some specialists welcome Internet jargons as a new

development in language.

If you do not even know what a Kong Long (dinosaur,

meaning an ugly looking femal) or a Qing Wa (frog, meaning an

ugly looking male) is, you will possibly be regarded as a Cai

A group of swans(天鹅) flew down to a beach where a crow

was jumping around . The crow(乌鸦)watched them with disdain

(鄙视).

“You have no flying skills at all!” he said to the swans. “All

you can do is to move your wings. Can you turn over in the air?

No, that’s beyond you. Let’s have a flying competition. I’ll

show you what real flying is! ”

One of the swans, a strong young male, took up the

so exhausted that he found it hard to stay in the air, and had to

struggle to keep himself from falling into the water.

The swan pretended not to notice, and said, “Why do you

keep touching the water, brother? Is that another trick?”“ No,”

said the crow. He knew he had lost the competition. “I’m in

trouble because of my pride! If you don’t help me, I’ll lose my

第二节 (共5小题,每小题2分,满分10分)

阅读下列材料,从所给的A-F六个选项中,选出符合31-35小题

要求的最佳选项。选项中有一项是多余选项。

No one knows when the first house was built and who the

first one to build the house was. But the houses are changing all

the time.

31. What will the house of the future look like? Could it have

gardens on its walls, or a pool with fish for diner?

Architects(建筑胡文家) believe that they may come true one

day. The only thing

for sure is that the houses will be as green as possible in the

future.

32. Many architects in the world would like to build a house like

a leaf—the surface of the house collects sunlight during the

day. The energy can be used to heat water, produce

electricity, and even make fresh air for the room. The “roof”

(根) of the house is deep under the ground. It uses the soil to

control the room’s temperature.

33. Like a lizard(蜥蜴), changing color with the weather is the

most important design of a lizard house. When it’s in the

bright sun, the cover of the house will return white to protect

it from strong heat. During dark days, it turns dark and takes

in as much light and heat as possible to produce energy.

34. This design is perhaps for the future of food. It has a garden

on the outside wall of the house. People can plant tomatoes,

carrots and green tea on them. So every morning, you just

need to walk outside and collect your meals.

35. Looking to the future isn’t the only way to be green.

Sometimes, the old ways of building houses can also help

cut down energy use. For example, a chimney(烟囱) can be a

useful air conditioner because it is easier for hot air to run

out of the chimney.

A. Learning from the pastB. Meals at home

C. The lizard houseD. Houses in the future

E. The tree houseF. The history of the houses

their grandparents would smile 43 they discovered these

So as I made up a bed for him downstairs in the living room,

I began writing 44 . Some were practical. “Dad, remember

bed.”Most notes were downstairs 46he had to stay for several

notes were reminder of our concern for him during this recovery

period(恢复期间). Just like his medicines benefitted him

physically, these notes 50 his mental health as well.
