Abstract—SimulationhasrecentlybeenintroducedatToyota

MotorEuropetooptimizethedesignofvehiclecoolingsystems.

Thisabstractdescribesthedevelopedmethodologytosolvethe

airflowthroughtheenginecompartmentandpredicttheperfor-

proceduretobuildasimulationmodelisdiscussedandthese-

ythemodel’sprediction

performanceisillustratedbyanexampleresult.

TheaimofmythesisworkwastoconfirmCFDas

avaluabletoolforcoolingsystems’rto

serveasavirtualsign-off,thesimulationmustbeableto

predictvaluesforcriticalcoolingperformanceparame-

ters,suchasenginecoolanttemperatures.
