How To Clean Install/ Upgrade AMD Drivers – Graphics Driver & key Components

Skip step A and start from step B, if you are trying to do a clean install of windows 10

and then install the AMD driver.

A. Clean uninstall AMD graphics driver with DDU

(Please download DDU from here and refer to the provided guide to perform the driver

uninstallation)

1. Reboot the system and press [F3] when MSI logo comes out.

2. Select "Troubleshoot" > "Advanced Options" > Startup Settings" and restart.

3. Press number [4] when the system reboot to enter safe mode.

4. Execute DDU, click “Options” in the toolbar, and enable “Remove Audio Bus”.

5. Close “Options” window and select device type as “GPU”.

6. Select “Clean and restart” to uninstall the driver. (System will reboot

automatically after the DDU is finished.)

7. The display adapter should be “Microsoft Basic Display Adapter” in Device

Manager since the driver has been removed.

B. Install AMD graphics driver

8. Download the latest AMD Graphics driver package from the driver download

page on MSI website. (Enter the product name on the top right search bar to find

the product download page, and VGA update file is located under Driver tab)

*Note: In order to make sure all the customized functions can be fully supported,

please find and download all the AMD related drivers from MSI website.

9. Extract and open the folder, right click “.”, and select “Run as

administrator”.

10. Select “Accept and Express Install”.

11. Select “Restart Now” to reboot the system.

12. After the system has rebooted, get AMD Radeon Settings lite download link from

the utility download page on MSI website.

13. Click “Install” to install AMD Radeon Settings lite.

C. Confirm the update

14. Open AMD Radeon Settings Lite and check whether the latest AMD driver has

been installed.
