第一集 靓模天后

Boss has a long face today. (黑口黑脸)

Young model 靓模

Do it with one hand tied behind your back (单手都搞掂)

Give us our head （放心交给我们做）

Keep our feet on the ground （脚踏实地）

Working hand in glove would make it easier (通力合作，必定迎刃而解)

She looks sloppy in her clothes. (她的衣服很随便)

She’s quite “Well-it”, but too stout. (她虽有时代触觉，但身材太丰满)

Bushy eyebrows 浓眉

Brood shoulders 肩膀很宽 （不是：wide shoulders）

Her hair is dry and messy, like a bunch of straw. (她的头发又干又乱，像一束禾杆草)

Slit eyes 小眼睛

These girls were all “Plain Janes” (平平无奇)

Don’t take it too seriously. (你不必理会别人说三道四)

Don’t be chicken-hearted. (不要胆怯)

I think she’s under-dressed. (我认为她的打扮过于朴素)

She is a little old hat. (老土)

They just can’t take their eyes off you. (他们目不转睛看着你)

形容一个人瘦到得排骨，可以说

- skin and bone: She is just skin and bone.

- skinny: She is skinny.

- scraggy: She is ascraggy.

- skeleton: she looks like a living skeleton.

但不能直接说：you are thin. 这是没礼貌的说法。

同样说人胖，不能直接说： you are fat. 可以说：He is stout.(壮实)

身体健硕，不是肥的，可以说：You are heavily built. (他体格健壮)

Chicken-hearted 好细胆，胆小怕事

Chicken out 临阵退缩，缩沙

A bird brain 笨，猪咁蠢

You act like a cuckoo. (布谷鸟，又叫疯鸟，形容人古古怪怪，疯疯癫癫)

Laugh at = mock at = make fun of 嘲笑

Laugh down 否决 They laughed the proposal down.

Laugh my head off 大笑，笑到甩肺

Lie： 不须借助外力，自己躺下的意思 ( I lie on the beach. 我自己躺在沙滩上)

Lay：借助外力，又被人放置的意思 （I lay the books on the shelf. 书被我放置）

Rise：靠自己的力量升起 （The sun rises in the east）

Raise: 靠外力而上升 （Please raise your hand）
