My Awesome Weekend!

Hey there! What's up? It's me, your favorite 6th grader, and

I'm gonna tell you all about my awesome weekend. It was so

much fun, I can't even begin to describe it! But I'll try my best

because that's just how cool of a kid I am.

So it all started on Friday after school. I was super stoked

because Mom and Dad said we were going on a little trip for the

weekend. I love trips! I quickly ran home, threw some clothes and

my Nintendo Switch into a backpack, and we hit the road. Dad

was driving and Mom kept trying to get me to listen to that

boring audiobook she's obsessed with. Like, no thanks Mom, I've

got games to play!

After what felt like forever in the car, we finally a

lake! Oh yeah, we were going camping for the weekend. I used to

think camping was kinda lame, but now that I'm older and wiser

(and cooler), I totally get how awesome it is. We set up our tent

near the water and I helped Dad get the fire pit ready. I'm a

fire-starting expert these days, no brag.

Once everything was good to go, Mom said I could play in

the lake for a bit before dinner. Score! I splashed around for a

while, skipped some rocks, and may have accidentally gotten

Dad's good camping chair a little wet. Whoops! When I worked

up an appetite, we cooked up some hot dogs over the fire.

There's nothing quite like a camping hot dog, am I right?

After we ate, Mom and Dad wanted to go on a lame nature

hike, but I convinced them to roast some marshmallows instead.

I mean, priorities! We told ghost stories and I think I actually

scared Dad at one point. High-five to me. Once it got late, we all

crawled into the tent and fell asleep pretty quick. Camping

always makes you tired in the best way.

The next morning, I woke up to the sounds of birds chirping

and the lake gently lapping against the shore. Peaceful stuff. We

cooked up a big camping breakfast with bacon, eggs, and those

hashbrowns that come in a box. Delicious! Then I suggested we

go on a canoeing adventure since we didn't hike the night

before.

Oh man, what a blast! Dad and I were in one

canoe while Mom had her own. She kept going in circles, but
