Commonly Used Legal Terms in Contract Law.

Acceptance The agreement by an offeree to the terms of

an offer, resulting in the formation of a legally binding

contract.

Breach of Contract The failure to fulfill one's

obligations under a contract, which can lead to legal

consequences.

Consideration An exchange of value between the parties

to a contract, often in the form of money or services, that

makes the contract legally enforceable.

Conditions Stipulations in a contract that must be met

before performance is required.

Contract A legally binding agreement between two or

more parties that creates, modifies, or terminates legal

rights and obligations.

Damages A monetary award granted to a party who has

suffered a loss due to a breach of contract.

Default The failure to perform a contractual obligation,

which can trigger legal remedies.

Estoppel A legal principle that prevents a party from

denying or contradicting a previous statement or action.

Executory Contract A contract in which both parties

have yet to fulfill their obligations.

Force Majeure An unforeseen event beyond a party's

control that excuses performance of a contract.

Fraud A misrepresentation or concealment of material

facts that induces another party to enter into a contract.

Frustration of Purpose The occurrence of an unforeseen

event that makes the performance of a contract impossible
