摘要：A projector that includes a projection optical system and a control part. The

projection optical system has: a first optical system that has a first optical axis; and a first

reflecting member that bends the first optical axis onto a second optical axis. The

projection optical system is configured such that a first optical member that includes the

first reflecting member and the first optical system is connected to a second optical

member that has the second optical axis such that the first optical member can rotate

around the second optical axis. The projection optical system uses emitted light from a

light source to project an image that has been displayed on an image formation panel

from the first optical system. When the rotational position of the first optical member is

not a predetermined first rotational position, the control part performs control that

causes the first optical system to emit light that is less intense than light that is emitted

from the first optical system when the first optical member is in the first rotational

position but has a predetermined intensity that ensures the visibility of the projected

image and does not produce a glare.
