A long time ago, my family went on an awesome trip to

America! I was really excited because I had never been on a plane

before. The airport was huge with so many planes and people

rushing around. We had to go through security which was kind

of scary with all the metal detectors and x-ray machines. But the

security guards were nice and helped us through.

Once we got on the plane, I couldn't believe how big it was

inside! There were rows and rows of seats. Our seats were right

over the wing which was cool. I got the window seat so I could

look out. The plane started moving and then it went faster and

faster until finally it lifted off the ground! We were flying! I

looked out the window and everything looked so tiny below us.

The houses, cars, trees and roads all seemed like miniature

models. It was amazing being up so high.

The flight attendants came around with snacks and drinks. I

got pretzels and orange juice which I sipped through a funny

bendy straw. A few hours into the flight, they turned on the TV

screens and we could watch movies. I watched a silly kid movie

about talking animals. It helped pass the time because the flight

was really long, like 12 hours!

I tried to sleep a little but it was hard with the engine noise

and having to sit up in the cramped seat. I was getting antsy

having to stay in one place for so long. Finally, after what felt like

forever, the pilot announced we were starting our descent into

Los Angeles. I looked out the window again and could see the

California coast coming into view beneath the blanket of clouds.

There were beaches, harbors, highways and neighborhoods

spreading out below us.

The plane landed with a big bump and finally we were on the

ground in America! Everybody clapped and cheered that we had

arrived safely. We had to take a shuttle bus from the plane over

to the huge terminal. The airport was just as busy on the inside

as it looked from outside. There were tons of people rushing

around collecting their luggage and figuring out where to go

next.

After getting our bags, we met up with my aunt and uncle

who live in LA. They gave us all big hugs and looked so happy to

see us. My aunt speaks really good English so she could help

translate for my parents. We walked out of the terminal and I got
