12. I beg your pardon!
不过,"I beg your pardon?"
13. I can't wait to see you 我迫不及待地想见到你
“can‟t wait to do sth” 迫不及待地做…,往往用来表达一种急不可待的心情。
I can't wait to see the movie.
Oh, I just can't wait to be king!
14. Don't let me down!
15. Drop me a line.
Don't
forget to drop me a line.(别忘写信给我)。 其它说法包括:Keep in touch.(保持联络)、Keep me posted.(寄信给我)。在此顺道一提Drop的其它解释,例如:Please drop by me. 是解作„请到我家探望我‟、Please drop in on me.
Candy: You're off to that tropical island on holiday tomorrow aren't you?
Alwin: Yes, I am. I can't wait to get away from it all.
Candy: Don't forget to drop me a line and tell me how it is.
Alwin: I don't think I can. I'm taking this vacation to get away from… you.
I can't wait to get away from it all. Don't forget to
drop me a line. I can't(或can hardly)wait是„我急不及待‟的意思,例如:After two years at sea, I can't wait to see my wife.(在海上过了两年,我急切想见妻子)。 This repair work can't wait (till this afternoon).
To get away from it all. All work and no play? Get away from it all in New Zealand!(只有工作,没有休息?
Drop me a line。Line是„一行(文字)‟,Drop me a line. Drop me a line when you get
to Paris.(你到了巴黎,简简单单写封信给我吧)。
Don't forget to write (to) me when
you get to Paris.(到了巴黎,别忘了写信给我)。
16. It won't take much time.
It won‟t take much
time”。
托别人照顾一下小孩,也可以说“It won‟t take much time”。
17. It’s very hard to say.
最好回答:“It‟s hard to say” 。
It‟s very hard to say.
It‟s really hard to say
18. It's a long story.
19. I'm afraid ...

比如:
l I'm afraid I can't.

l I'm afraid I can't help you.
l I'm afraid it's too late.
l I'm afraid you're wrong.
I'm afraid there's no hope.
20. "It's up in the air"
Are you dating Jennifer now?" It's up in the air."
Please practise and blurt it out!
21. I enjoy losing face
22. Practice Makes Perfect
The saying that practice makes perfect means that after you have plenty of practice in
what you are doing, you will be perfect in it. He who practices a lot will master the skill
more quickly than he who seldom or hardly practices.
For example, when we learn English, we have to learn grammar, words,
expressions and so on. The most important thing may be how to put what we have learned
into practice. If you only learn the grammar rules by heart and don't do enough exercises,
it is certain that you can't understand them perfectly. But if you practice a lot, maybe you
will understand them more deeply and you can find some good methods of applying them.
Memorizing English words whenever time permits, we can easily memorize them and can
even find a way to memorize them more quickly.
There is another example. A famous singer can sing very welt. Of course, his
talent is very important, but practice is necessary. It is necessary to practice to make the
singer sing better and better.
It is evident that practice is important for everybody. If you want to improve your
study and work, you should remember that practice makes perfect.
