Music Club Wants You!

Hi friends! My name is Lily and I'm the president of the

Sunshine Elementary Music Club. Are you looking for an

awesome after-school activity? Then you've got to join our club!

We do all sorts of fun music stuff. Like what, you ask? Well,

let me tell you!

First up, we get to learn about different instruments each

week. Last month, we had a professional violinist come and teach

us how to play hot cross buns. It was so cool! This month, we're

going to learn the recorder. I can't wait to drive my parents crazy

by playing it all the time at home!

But that's not all we do. We also learn to read music and play

little songs together. My favorite part is when we get to make up

silly lyrics about stuff like ice cream and puppies. One time, we

wrote a song about our cranky old janitor Mr. Jenkins and he got

so mad! It was hilarious.

Sometimes, we even get to make our own instruments out of

recycled materials. Last year, I made the most awesome shaker

out of an empty plastic bottle and some dried beans. Shake it

baby!

On top of all that musical fun, we get to perform concerts a

few times a year for our families. We have a winter concert where

we sing holiday songs, and a spring concert to welcome the

warm weather. Performing on stage is always nerve-wracking at

first, but after you get past those butterflies, it feels amazing!

The best part about Music Club is that you don't need any

experience at all. They'll teach you everything you need to know.

So even if you can't play a single note right now, you'll be a rock

star by the end of the year!

Oh, and did I mention we have a music club shirt that you

get to design yourself? How cool is that?! We all doodle our own

designs and then pick our favorites to put on the shirts. Last

year's winners were a howling wolf and a fire-breathing dragon.

So awesome!

Anyways, you get the idea - Music Club is literally the best

after-school activity ever. You make new friends, learn about

different cultures through their music, and have a total blast!
