My Trip to France!

Hi friends! I went on a super fun trip to France with my family

this summer. France is a country in Europe and the capital city is

called Paris. We took an airplane to get there and it was a really

long flight. But it was worth it because France is an amazing

place!

The first stop on our trip was Paris. Paris is full of cool

buildings, amazing food, and lots of stuff to see and do. One of

the most famous buildings in Paris is called the Eiffel Tower. It's

this gigantic metal tower that is 1,063 feet tall! We went up to

the top in an elevator and the view from up there was incredible.

You could see the entire city of Paris laid out below you. My little

brother got scared of the heights but I thought it was awesome.

Another famous landmark in Paris is a big church called

Notre Dame Cathedral. It took almost 200 years to build this

huge, beautiful cathedral way back in the Middle Ages. We went

inside and saw the stained glass windows, the tall ceilings, and all

the cool architecture. It's hard to believe people could build

something so massive and ornate without modern construction

equipment!

We also visited a museum in Paris called the Louvre. The

Louvre used to be a palace for French kings and queens, but now

it's an art museum with millions of paintings, sculptures, and

other masterpieces. My favorite was seeing the Mona Lisa, the

famous painting by Leonardo da Vinci of a woman with a

mysterious smile. We had to squeeze through a bunch of people

to get a glimpse of it though because it's so popular.

Of course, no trip to Paris is complete without eating lots

and lots of French food! I tried things like crêpes (thin pancakes),

croissants, baguettes (those delicious French loaves of bread),

macarons, crème brûlée, and more. My favorite was the crêpes

with Nutella smeared inside. We'd stop at patisseries (bakeries)

every day to get fresh bread and pastries. Everything tasted like a

million times better than the French food we can get back home.

After spending a few days in Paris, we took a train to a

couple other parts of France. One town we visited was called

Nice, which is located right on the Mediterranean Sea. The water

was bright blue and beautiful. We spent a day relaxing at the

beach, swimming, and building sand castles. The next day we
